A love poem
that looks at cheating and the guilt it brings
She comes on like a vision (my head is on fire)
You go to to her room (my pulse running higher)
Make a decision (how can I do it?)
She lies in the gloom (will She see through it?)
You sweat like a river (what about Love?)
You know that you'll break (it's just another one)
Her body starts to shiver (will you ever learn?)
Your body starts to shake (the point of no return)
And She sits all alone and She stares at the phone
As the thoughts run around in Her mind,
And Her love fades away like the heat of the day
As the darkness comes creeping behind;
And She's going insane as the thoughts eat Her brain
And the pictures play on in Her head,
As She thinks of Her man doing all that he can
In another one's beautiful bed.
You lie in the darkness (how can I face Her?)
You glisten with sweat (this cuts like a razor)
Thinking excuses (I should have known better)
How low can you get (wish I could forget her)
You know that she trapped you (maybe She's sleeping)
You put up a fight (maybe I'll creep in)
She sort of kidnapped you (I'll spin Her some snow)
Like the one Friday night (and She'll never know)
