DREAM

You ignite a tiny spark, that somehow sustains me in the blackest of times. Strange how such a small glow can light the darkest hallways of hell, yet it burns with a passion not of this world. I only need to wish it, and I see its golden glow, feel the flaming torch that it carries across the ether. No star can burn as bright.

Freud said “Our dreams...are our wishes”

This was my dream:

I am standing in a bubble. The walls are plastic, and electric, and they seem to undulate with a Neanderthal rhythm, pulsing with my heartbeat. You come through the wall, smiling softly, and you walk to me purposefully, a set in your oceanic eyes. Sparks surround the void that you entered by, and it closes silently, yet I can hear it singing.

You put your arms around me, and I am a God. I watch, enrapt as our skin fuses together and we become one being. I see the sunshine in your soul, and the laser light of your love warms me. You whisper the words of an age-old Goddess, and I understand that they were written for me, and waited on stone through the millennia until you could speak them in my ear.

We dance on clouds, and laugh a trillion snowflakes, happy in each other and content with the universe. Your eyes show me the reality of all legends, and your soft voice is a secret sighing of every warm breeze that ever wafted over lovers embracing in the Summer moonlight.

I touch your hair, and a sun-streaked wheat field beckons me to lay in the soft sheaves of Somewhere. As clear skies shine happiness, your fingertips draw runes on my cheek, and I am reborn, no longer alone in the Winter of the World, but an entity that defies death, that lives forever, as your lips carry me to planes of perfection that man has not yet dreamt of. I drown in your body, and find myself smiling, happy for the first time.

I walked in darkness, yet saw nothing. You are my Columbia, you showed me the way of the light, on and upward...to be part of heaven’s circle.
