The ambidextrous Duchess can play chess
with either hand
Right or left the Lady’s deft, she has
her gambits planned;
Her men she works adroitly and no move is
just the same
Her fingers light will take a Knight and
win another game.
She plays her pawns and bishops and her
tactics never cease
But if need be for victory, she’ll
sacrifice a piece;
As play goes on she studies all the men
upon the board
Black or white she’ll find a slight
inroad to be explored.
So busy is the board there are a lot of
moves unseen
But never make the big mistake of trying
to take this Queen;
She fights a clever battle and her mind
is on one thing:
At end of day and cease of play she wants
to own a King.
