Finally Jumping by Graeme King

Reader Scott Evans has taken my poem Finally Jumping and made a video, using its words. This was a school project, and the result is rather interesting. I hope you like it as much as I did, well done, Scott!

A close-to-death encounter changed my life,
I teetered on the brink of nevermore,
and felt the sting of karma's candid knife,
as dreamy ether wafted to the fore.

Intent on reaching light I flew away,
but something clasped on my achilles heel,
and dragged me screaming back, to see the day,
to wonder if the scars would ever heal.

The stitches in that wound: Calligraphy!
a message from that surgeon in the sky,
reminding me of what was yet to be
if only I would spread my wings and fly.

As rollers crashed into the rocky shore
I stood upon that cliff and breathed the air,
despairing tear drops racked me to the core,
I leapt into whatever might be there.
