Would she see a
gnome the likes of me?
(Girlie hair, with
glasses and a smile)
Meet down by the
bay to take some tea?
Later stroll
along the golden mile?
Sand between our
toes as cool wind blows,
Sitting on the tide
mark for a spell,
Waves on the
horizon, highs and lows,
Decorate her beauty
with a shell.
Set the gulls to
squabbling over crumbs,
Shrieking on the
shingle – such a din!
Shiver soft as
nightfall slowly comes,
Head for home and
quietly go in.
Could she love a
poet such as I?
Fall asleep by
light of TV beams?
Wake to see the
twinkle in my eye?
These are just a
couple of my dreams.
