Riding unicorns
that time can’t tether,
Galloping across
the field of years,
Hiding under halos
from the weather,
Dry from mortal
heartache, earthly tears.
You were sung to me
by Cupid’s chorus,
Harmonies that
conjured love unique,
Two like souls, a
thousand lives before us,
Eden, such as only
angels speak.
Men have wasted
lifetimes seeking power,
Only in the end
they realize,
When love shone,
they failed to seize the hour,
Too engrossed in
greed to recognize.
We are blessed, we
know this gift we’re given,
Worldly goods mean
nothing next to this,
See your smile, my
eyes enchanted, driven,
Riding rainbows, to
Elysian bliss.
Drifting in a dream
raft on our ocean,
Life’s dark storms
pass harmless overhead,
Lifting our belief
of pure devotion,
Hearts entwined,
the cumulus our bed.
Hand in hand we
pierce forever’s portal,
One love in an eon
has this boon,
Sand of time no
threat- amour immortal,
Hold me tight,
we’re reaching for the moon.
