Flitting through a
friendly jungle
monkeys chatter.
Young and tasty,
clumsy, careless.
In this other
world,
the Ether World,
pumas prowl.
Yellow eyes gleam,
claws tap softly
spinning gaily
colored webs
to snare the next
victim.
Without a whimper
a small body comes
down to Earth
where,
basking on a filthy
rock,
alone in the sun,
the spider waits.
Ejaculating venom,
his drool dilutes
the putrid song he
purrs.
