Butterflies - of
colors never seen amongst the trees,
rigid wings so
beautiful uplifted by the breeze,
soaring like a
flock of colored eagles in the sky,
living every
childhood dream: the human urge to fly.
Leaping from the
precipice, in raptured fear's dismay,
feel the updraft
lift you as the planet falls away,
there amongst the
Gods you count the clouds as closest friends,
screamed
exhilaration - how you wish it never ends!
Drifting high above
the nightly news and cell phone's ring,
shout your orders
to the wind: the wishes of the King!
scowl at ants who
scurry to their boxes way down there,
smile and feel the
miracle - as you embrace the air.
