Kissing frogs has only brought me
heartache,
Not one single Princess, nothing
magic;
Maybe I was wading in a fool's pond?
Never knew the secret words - it's
tragic.
Looking through my tea leaves saw no
future,
There my past lay, bare upon the
saucer;
Then the gypsy saw inside the
crystal,
Wouldn't tell the truth...I didn't
force her.
Trudged up to the wizard in his
castle,
Asked him how to find love's
resurrection;
Magic mirror told me to look deeply,
Try to see the flaws in my
reflection.
Ventured to the sky to find some
stardust,
Riding on a Pegasus of whimsy;
Then the moon inquired of my
intentions,
All my answers blew away so flimsy.
Canceling imaginary daydreams,
Spoke direct to Buddha in his tower;
Seeking truth of happiness and
laughter,
Heard him whisper: "Go and watch a
flower."
Now I lie beside the crystal waters,
Call me what you wish for
nomenclature;
Here forever, pounded by the ocean,
Golden sand, returned as part of
nature.
