SILVER MOONBEAM

This is an Acrostic Sonnet. I like combining forms for an extra challenge.

Shining ever, hope of love eternal,

Indescribable this silver glazing,

Legend of all tales and odes nocturnal,

Varied only by the season’s phasing;

Evening phosphorescence, I salute thee,

Rain your grace upon this soul unworthy,

Magnify your magic, spread Nox’ beauty

Over these sad eyes, that love may stir me.

Ornament of Heaven, I implore you:

Number me among your servants trusted;

Bending knee, I bear my soul before you,

Ease my pain and loose this heart encrusted.

Answer me, I pray in genuflection

Moonbeam, grant me love’s true resurrection.
