If I
had legs I'd stride the trail
to
worldly end then glide and sail
on
lines of wish I'd ride that rail
and beg
the angels' pardon
My feet
in boots of blackened fur
I'd run
to Hell and back or more
to pass
the test and crack the door
that
leads to Heaven's garden.
If I
had eyes I'd keep them wide
to
watch for tears she weeps inside
and bid
the sunshine creep and glide
across
her darkened bower
A
picture would unfold to me
her
future on a golden sea
in
dreams this story holds the key
'twill
be my finest hour.
If I
had arms I'd bear the load
with
hands of steel that wear a code
the
lines of fortune's daring road
a
paladin's confession
I'd
carry all her heat and pain
then
douse the sun defeat the rain
and
never would she meet again
her
nemesis depression
If I
had lips her name I'd cry
as
thunder rolls I'd tame the sky
all
lightning bolts would flame and die
in awe
of my endeavor
I'd
chant a spell in magic rhyme
and
turn another page in time
to live
some golden age sublime
where
this would be forever
